Born To Be Blonde

It has long ceased to be that being a blonde is just a a genetic thing.  It is an attitude. The message that you’re sending to the world. Many smart blondes crushes widespread stereotypes about their stupidity. They love to be seen as inferior, airheaded women easy to handle, like to be underestimated, so that people get unpleasant surprise when blonde fight back. Must admit, it’s a good tactic. The birth of stupid stereotypes about blondes actually belongs to a brunette. A brief overview of the history of smart blonde women:

Cleopatra I Ptolemy

The famous Egyptian pharaoh was a natural blonde originally from Macedonia. Her father, Alexander’s general Ptolemy was blonde. Historians record that seductive skills she owed not to beauty but intelligence. Successfully ruled a large country. With skillful tactics she managed to seduce Caesar and Marcus Antonius. She had excellent knowledge in the mathematics, chemistry, literature and philosophy. Her knowledge of poisons was famous far and wide. Marcus Antonius was so afraid of that talent so that even in the most intimate moments did not want to taste anything before tasters. On one occasion she poisoned the wine in her cup and told his lover to toast to their love. She took a first sip, so she forwarded it to her beloved. When Marcus Antonius wanted to drink, Cleopatra insisted that it first rehearsal taster. A few minutes later the poor man fell dead. Cleopatra had explained to terrified Antonius that the two were already drunk the antidote and the key thing in a relationship is trust, that he have to believe that she is so clever she can poison him whenever she wants.

Hypatia

The famous Alexandria’s mathematician and philosopher Hypatia also was a blonde. About her works on mathematics and astronomy Photius wrote with great respect. She has acquired excellent education from her father Theonas, mathematician and astronomer. Hypatia’s life had have brutally ended. In her time Christianity became the official religion of the Roman empire, and this wise blonde was neoplatonic. Her philosophical views Christians had considered dangerous, so she was killed in 415.

Lucrezia Borgia

Illegitimate daughter of Pope Alexander IV, she studied Latin and ancient Greek since early childhood, met with poetry, music and painting on porcelain. Her fantastic beauty harmoniously complemented with extensive knowledge and skill of conversation. Of course, Lucrezia was, in the spirit of her family tradition, excellent with poisons, but it would be unjustified to say that this knowledge is often used. Presumably, this woman was a best member of this diabolical family whose name puts fear into the nobles in Europe. Her blue ringlets in the history of the world’s most beautiful art were enrolled by Bartolomeo Veneto.

You don't want to miss these:
  • sona

    Lou Salome

  • srkshazu

nice collection of hot and sexy girls pictures…..

  • Rudi

This is what is said above about Jodie Foster “She speaks three languages: French, Italian and German.”

I don’t know where the author got his information, but the last few movies I saw of her she spoke perfect English – which make it at least 4 languages, unless the author is blonde and don’t know that English is a language :)

  • Sandy

Sharon Stone does not have an IQ that high, and has never been in Mensa, sorry to say. She claimed that years ago, but admitted later that it wasn’t the truth.

For the record, no one knows for sure whether Cleopatra was blonde or had dark hair either. Just because she was Greek and not Egyptian doesn’t mean she had light hair; not all Greeks are blonde by any means. All anyone can do is speculate.

  • Ajm

The first picture looks like Vivian Leigh. Is that a still from Antony and Cleopatra?

  • jake

    THis is all wrong
Marilyn Monroe is not even on there.
She is the sexiest woman ever

  • JJ

Like hell cleopatra was blonde. Wherever you sourced that statement is just blatant white washing Lol.

    • Stijn

Read a history book chum, probably your from america where for some reason they even teach ( and believe NOT in the rest of the world) that cleopatra was blackskinnend. Wich would be a very strange phenomenom because of her lineage. This is not ‘white washing’ wathever the hell that is, it’s just history.

      • Me123

        Dear Stijn

white washing means to make people of other races appear white through the media, such as saying cleopatra, who was indeed dark and a red head, as a blonde white woman. So basically, you’re agreeing with JJ.

        *skinned
        *whatever
        *which
        *phenomenon

        sincerely,

        Me

        • Me123

To correct myself *was a blonde white woman, not as. See? I’m fair.

  • Dude

    Marilyn Monroe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Angela Merkel and not Marilyn Monroe…??? WOW… I actually made 4 clicks through ads to find this page.

    • Nimyes

Marilyn Monroe was VERY intelligent, but suspect the reason she was not mentioned is because she was actually a brunette. She had dark brown hair, but dyed her hair blonde. Her real name was Norma jean mortinsen.

      • Auburn girl

she was an auburn wasn’t she? I don’t know why Jodie Foster is on this list either as she is also a red head…

        • Auburn girl

apparently Jodie is a blond, go figure lol I always seen her as a red head in my vision of her and they didn’t make it any easier by using a picture of her as red! shesh!

  • Graey

I don’t know where you got your information, but Alexander’s general Ptolemy died in 283 BC and Cleopatra was born in 69 BC. She was a descendant of his, but not even close to being his daughter. Also, from everything I’ve read, Hellenes didn’t have blond hair, including Alexander.

  • Graey

Also the famous Cleopatra was Cleopatra VII Philopator, the one who slept with Caesar and Marcus Antonius. Cleopatra I married Ptolemy V in 193 BC. Neither Cleo VII, Cleo I, nor Ptolemy I were ever alive at the same time, and he didn’t have a daughter named Cleopatra (of any number) as far as I know.

    • Ana

Finally someone with there facts right.
And to say Cleopatra VII wasn’t a smart woman is a bit stupid. Different contemporary sources clearly state she could speak about seven lanuages. More probably than anyone reading this article.

  • Berry

@JJ actually, supposedly Cleopatra WAS a blonde, or rather, a strawberry blonde to be exact (according to many historians). perhaps YOU should try researching a little before you leave a comment.

Slight facepalm that the people who mentioned Marilyn Munroe ironically did so because she’s “sexy” – would have been more appropriate if they would have said it because of the fact she was actually very intelligent with a very high IQ. Unfortunately because she was so attractive and quickly branded as a ‘sexy but dumb blonde’, it was a niche directors would never let her out of (she had wanted to be cast in a number of serious, intelligent roles but was turned down because it went against her established image). Most people these days still don’t know that she wasn’t the image she was portrayed as.. sad but true.

    • VincensoC

      @Berry
Actually JJ is correct. She was not blond, in fact none of the Egyptians of her time were blond. Egyptian artifacts, artwork(paintings, statues….etc) and history show and prove this. That’s not coming from outside “historians” but from the people themselves.

Also, why do you sound so offended about that comment ?

      • Walter

The Ptolemaic Dynasty was Macedonian, not Egyptian. When Alexander the Great conquered the known world, he left satraps to rule in his stead. Ptolemy was one of Alexander’s best generals, and by some accounts, his half-brother as well. Alexander himself was blond and so was Ptolemy. Granted, Cleopatra was pretty far down the line from Ptolemy, but the Ptolemaic Dynasty in Egypt tended to either practice incest with one another, or marry Macedonian Greeks from the homeland. For example, Cleopatra’s father, Ptolemy XII Auletes was the son of Arsinoe and Lagus, who were both from Macedon. Her mother was most likely Cleopatra V Tryphaena, who was also Macedonian.

So yes, blond hair in Egypt would’ve been almost non-existent, but not in Macedon (and the Ptolemys were Macedonian, not Egyptian). To this day, blond hair is fairly wide spread in Macedonia, much more so than it is in Greece proper.

    • Shasha3131

My favorite picture of Marilyn is of her on her bed wearing jean capris, a plain top and she’s reading a book. Not dripping in sexuality. Just being a normal person.

  • Unimpressed

Cleopatra was blown so out of proportion, it’s hard to believe anyone would accept this sh*t.

“The famous Egyptian pharaoh was a natural blonde originally from Macedonia. Her father, Alexander’s general Ptolemy was blonde. Historians record that seductive skills she owed not to beauty but intelligence. Successfully ruled a large country. With skillful tactics she managed to seduce Caesar and Marcus Antonius.”

First of all, where is the proof that Cleopatra was blond? It only mentions her father, not her. And historians didn’t credit her skills with intelligence, they credited it to her CHARM. Not only that, but her ability to seduce men could’ve never been because of her beauty; in reality, she was quite an ugly woman. Cleopatra didn’t gain her power from her knowledge, she got it from sleeping with innumerable amounts of men. She didn’t use “skillful tactics” either; in fact, she seduced Caesar by rolling herself up into a carpet while in the nude and stowing away on on his ship to be found later. I can assure you that doesn’t take much of anything- just a carpet.

And once her man Caesar left her, she had no true power of her own. Everything that she had achieved was because him, and so without someone to influence, she was nothing more than your average wh*re. When Marcus Antonius came around, she was pretty old for her age; so of course, it wouldn’t be as attractive as it used to be if she rolled up in a carpet again. Instead, she has to pull this huge stunt dressed up like Venus, goddess of FERTILITY, and parade down the nile in the best get up she can get her dirty little hands on. She got to sleep with him too, and when they were about to lose to Octavian they committed suicide- in other words, she was still powerless.

So basically, what I’m trying to say is that Cleopatra ruled with her vagina, not with her brain.

    • Elizabeth

Yeah, I’m pretty sure that she used sexual tactics to impress Caesar and Marc Anthony, but she was NOT dumb!! She was the first person in the Ptolemy dynasty to speak egyptian, knew how to command an army, was mathematically skilled, among other things. She had to seduce Caesar to help her to rule over her brother, witch she was forced to marry. Lately, many archaeologists are debating over Cleopatra’s looks, and now are saying that in fact, she was a beautiful woman. She has been sculpted with a huge nose because that symbolized dominance back then; it was a desireable feauture to have. I don’t know if she was unnatractive when she seduced Marc Anthony, but she did take care of herself. She died at just 39 yrs. old, I don’t think she let herself go that much to decide on pulling a ‘huge stunt’ like that. Marc Anthony was in battle against Octatvian. He heard that Cleopatra died – witch wasn’t true- and stabbed himself. Antony died by Cleopatra’s side, and she managed to kill herself, even if she was watched by Octavian’s henchmen. Antony and Cleopatra did their best to fight Octavian, but they lost; Cleopatra didn’t have any other choice. If you’ve noticed, Women were extremely powerless against Patriarchy. Men had the first rule for everything, with a few queens being the exception. So what if Cleopatra used sex to her advantage? Why is she a ‘whore”? Men use sex all the time, in the past and present. For gods sake, there’s still Harems in the middle east!! When men invaded and conquered a country, they raped the women there! King Henry VIII married 6 times to breed to the ‘perfect son’ for his throne. So he was having lots of sex- gout and all- and who knows how many other women he screwed. Historians believe he died of a sexually transmitted disease! Cleopatra could’ve easily just been the mistress, but she was too smart for that, and needed power.

    • Iris

Omg you’re such an typical asshole

    • Kitty

Is it not also worth pointing out that it was Cleopatra VII not Cleopatra I and whether or not she did any of these things is merely speculation anyway as information in ancient literary texts cannot be trusted; ancient historians weren’t like modern historians – they liked to elaborate upon their ‘histories’ and were often writing 100′s of years after the event.

  • Dave

The Cleopatra that was getting busy with Mark Antony was Cleopatra VII, not the first, and Ptolemy was her Great (insert a couple of other greats) Grandfather.

And sorry JJ, the idea that Cleopatra may have been fair haired is not just a white wash. While unlikely that she was blond it’s not entirely impossible. The Hellenistic Pharoahs were fairly inbred down from Macedonia and Selucia royal lines.

  • Drew

Who is the girl in the main picture for the article? She is stunning.

    • Page Monroe

If you’re speaking of Cleopatra, that’s Vivian Leigh, Lawrence Olivia’s wife…she also starred in Gone with the wind. And FYI….all Egyptian archaeologists agree she was, in fact, a redhead…..You see her depicted with raven hair because she was a priestess of Isis, and would take on the role of the goddess…..that and most Egyptians of the time shaved their heads to prevent lice. Note lice like CLEAN hair….which was a problem with her constant baths. Many rulers were also known to wear a variety of wigs.

      • Snow BunnyInfidel

They did not ‘agree’ she was a redhead – the verdict was ‘blonde or ‘reddish blonde’ hair – You see her depicted with ‘raven hair’ and lately as a NEGRO because blacks state that Cleopatra WAS BLACK.

Regardless, her hair was so very light, it was one of those hair colors that you cannot distinguish well between white and red. It most certainly was not a flaming red. IF it had true red (and it might have been red hennah) then it was a very very light strawberry blonde.

    • Redd

I agree! I would kill for those freckles!

  • lilli

Cleopatra’s hair color is up for debate, but she certainly might have been blonde, or at least considered as such. In a story from the hellenistic era, known as the greek cinderella to moderns, about a geek slave who weds an egyptian pharoh the difference between greeks and egyptians is stated as being that greeks had pale skin and curly blonde hair while egyptians had straight dark hair and brown skin. It’s one of the few written sources from the era that describes racial characteristics and should be taken seriously. Since Cleopatra was from a macedonian dynasty, and they seem to be blonder than the greeks, and would have been considered a greek it stands to reason that she would probably be viewed as a blonde, even if her hair was darker than what we would consider blonde nowadays.

  • J401

I totally agree with Rudi. This whole thing looks someting 9 yo put together.

  • Dcfc97

Who wrote this?! One word. EDIT!

  • Gunnar

Fun fact Lucrezia Borgia was in an incestuous relationship with her brother Cesare

  • Looshk

Jodie Foster looks more like a redhead than a blonde XD but whatever lol

  • EnglishNerd

I am severely depressed by how poor the writing quality is on this article. The spelling and grammar mistakes are not only atrocious but disturbingly frequent, and I am hard pressed to find a single sentence that hasn’t been butchered. What is the world coming to?

    • stunned-geek

That’s just what I was going to say. I’m not extremely bothered by the occasional misspelled word here and there (hell, I’m German and I know my English probably isn’t flawless) but this article seriously almost gave me eyecancer with the amount of mistakes in it. And most off them are so completely crazy I don’t even understand how this could be published!

    • Heisi

I kind of thought the same. Don’t ask me why, but I feel that a russian has written this article. Most foreign language students would have pulled this off easily.

    • Grenadeh

All of these websites, photomage, anything you see that has a large collection of thumbnails that supposedly link to articles – they are run and developed and written by some foreigners, somewhere, who don’t understand english, and they are all scams ridden with spyware. So don’t expect coherence or linguistic ability even reminiscent of being bad at English, much less fluent.

  • Aaa

Funny thing is, you guys are actually arguing over this idiot’s inaccurate portrayal and description of Cleopatra. Guess what..his / her grasp of history is even worse than his biased opinions.

    • Grenadeh

Obviously you are an expert not only on Classical and Mediterranean Archaeology but also History and you, unbeknownst to the world, have travelled back in time to the 1st century B.C.E and spent extensive amounts of time with her. I’m sorry, what was the name of your doctoral thesis regarding Cleopatra, so I can look it up?

What the fuck do you know? What are your credentials? I’ve studied this subject both in and outside of school for 12 years, none of the information on Cleopatra is biased or massively inaccurate.

  • dngynbdy

Diane Sawyer?! WTF? What is interesting about a hate-filled liberal who spews liberal garbage from her mouth every day?

  • Aherrm

Lucrezia Borgia was gross (boning her brother and father and all), if Cleopatra was blonde white people would have jumped at the chance to portray her as such long ago (see: Jesus), and nothing was extraordinary about most of the other women on this list.

  • Danielz_great_lol

They didnt go into enough detail about lucretzia borgia, she did a lot more than they’re leading on. she murdered pretty much all her husbands and several other men, had several children and died young. conducted in a lot of insest during her early days and thats the tip of the iceberg

You might have been able to pose some kind of argument in favour of the blonde movement if you hadn’t written this article as if you had some kind of mental defect. As it stands however you have managed to make every single sentence written stupid. Check. There isn’t a single sentence you could have made sound more stupid.
The blonde stereotype is a joke, anyone worth talking to knows that it isn’t to be taken seriously and you appear to believe that this is news? That there are a handful of noteworthy blondes? You do more harm than good.

Take a look at these:
