The Journey

Waiting

In the land of the midnight water lily, the maiden eagerly awaits the arrival of a mysterious galleon.  As it enters the sunlit bay she wonders what bounty it carries.  Will it be laden with exotic gifts from a far off land, or maybe this time a gallant lover to whisk her away to faraway places for adventures untold.  How long has she been waiting for this moment?  In her world time has no meaning, it may have been minutes or years..!!

Flight to Freedom

As the inquisitive girl lifts the glass dome, the air becomes filled with magic. The captured butterflies’ come alive and unfurl their colorful wings as they escape into the waiting world. Little fairies arrive to share the happiness, as their friends fly and whirl around in celebration of their newfound freedom.

Mer Angel

This mythical creature is in a state of blissful repose as waterfalls cascade from her hair into a watery world of lily trees and river horses, galloping free down flowery slopes.The quiet beauty of the moment and the company of her own thoughts bring her comfort and a sense of peace.

Voyage to Murrlis

Love is like a mysterious ship that can carry us on a voyage of the imagination. Gentle music serenades the travelers on this mystical vessel as the wind wafts through the harp on the lion figurehead. Within its shell mast the ship carries an exotic land, while its hold overflows with many gifts, which are, like love, filled with magic and beyond any expectation. A clue to the inspiration of this image is in the title.

For the Love of a Mermaid

Drawn into her watery world by the mermaid’s enchanting beauty, he feels compelled to dance. Taking her in his arms they swirl around performing their subterranean waltz, finding so much joy and freedom in their underwater sanctuary. Under her spell he is able to breathe freely and the magic of their love ensures he will stay with her forever.

My Saviour of the Seas

Deep below the ocean waves Neptune soothes a beautiful mermaid, who is relieved to see him return safely from his duties, patrolling the ocean depths. She knows that he spends his days taking care of the creatures of the seas and making sure no harm comes to the delicate balance of his underwater world.

I Saw 3 Ships

The inspiration for this painting came from an old nursery rhyme, called Three Ships. The last two verses go like this:
Three pretty girls were in them then,
In them then, in them then.
Three pretty girls were in them then,
On New-Year’s day in the morning.
And one could whistle, and one could sing,
And one could play the violin,
Such joy there was at my wedding,
On New-Year’s day in the morning.
The girls have become angels, and the ships sails are wings. They are sailing in a sea of dandelions, hence the dandelion seeds and the sun is a huge dandelion.

Love is in the Air

Dancing in the moonlight the lovers are transported to a world of their own. The moon becomes a glittering mirror-ball scattering rainbow stars to light up their cloudy ballroom. When love is in the air all things are possible!
